Designation: Project Associate (Power Electronics)
Number of positions: 3

We are looking for three motivated Electrical Engineers to work on challenging power electronics projects involving the design, development, and testing of high-performance power converters and embedded firmware development using FPGA and microcontrollers. The project offers excellent opportunities for the overall professional development of B-Tech./M-Tech. graduates who are willing to boost their expertise in the area of power electronics. This also provides the opportunity to work at a leading industrial R&D centre and in an academic group. The project position is for one year extendable based on performance with a salary as per Department of Science and Technology norms.

Job Description:
• Design, fabrication, and testing a wide bandgap-based medium voltage charger for electric vehicle application. The focus is to develop a high-power density, high-efficiency converter.
• The challenging design will be approached through proper device selection, advanced layout design, selection of optimal topology (DAB), and innovations in switching strategy (ZVS).
• Optimal layouts will be done, Digital twins will be made, and finally, the performance in terms of loss, efficiency, and reliability will be validated through experiment.
• Further performance improvement will be achieved through medium voltage insulated advanced magnetics design innovations.
• The work will also involve necessary embedded systems design for feedback control, protection debugging, etc., on a suitable digital signal controller/MCU/FPGA platform.
Eligibility:
• B. Tech in Electrical Engineering
• M.Tech in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Electronics (Preferred)
• Experience in the field of power electronics (Preferred)
• Experience in the field of Firmware development (Preferred)
Benefits:
This focused time-bound project will provide a 360-degree experience in next-generation power converter development. This experience will be precious for someone who is looking for a position in power electronics research. It will also be an ideal launchpad for someone planning higher education in India or abroad in the area of power electronics. The academic environment will provide ample opportunity for publications and patents.

Preferred skills:
• MATLAB/Simulink
• Spice (LT Spice or P Spice)
• Schematic design, PCB layout, in OrCAD / KiCad / Altium, BOM creation
• Firmware coding on a microcontroller or FPGA (Embedded C, Verilog)
• High-frequency Magnetics design using Ansys/ Maxwell
• Power Electronic converter design, fabrication, and testing
• High-quality Technical Documentation
Salary:
• Up to 31,000 including HRA per month (B. Tech graduates without a valid Gate score)
• Up to 37,000 + HRA per month (B. Tech graduates with valid gate score / M. Tech graduates)
• Up to 42,000 + HRA per month (M. Tech graduates with a minimum two years of experience)
