Vishal Anand (PhD ERP)
BTech: PSGTech; MTech: IISc
A G Vishal Anand (M’16, SM’20) received a B.E degree from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore in 2001 and M.S. degree from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, in 2005. He worked as a Manager at Tata Motors Pvt Ltd, Pune, from June 2005 to Nov 2005. From Dec 2005 to August 2006, he worked at American Power Conversion as a Design Engineer. From Sep 2006 to the present day, he has been with Bloom Energy (I) Pvt Ltd, currently working as Director of Engineering. He is working towards his Ph. D at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. His primary areas of interest are modeling, controlling, and designing grid-connected/ standalone Inverters, topology, analysis, and control of resonant converters. He’s the current Chair of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, Bangalore chapter, and Treasurer of the IEEE Power Electronics Society, Bangalore Chapter. He currently holds 4 US patents.
Manish Mandal (PhD)
BTech: NIT Warangal
Manish Mandal received his B.Tech. degree from the National Institute of Technology, Warangal, India, in 2017 in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He joined the Electrical Engineering Department, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India in 2018, and is currently working toward a Ph.D. degree. His research interests include characterization and modelling of silicon and wide bandgap power devices and active gate driving.

Harisyam PV (PhD)

Harisyam received his B. Tech. Degree in Electrical Engineering from National Institute of Technology Calicut , India in 2018 and M. Tech. Degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Science Bangalore , India, in 2020 sponsored by Texas Instruments India under TI scholar program. From 2020 to 2021, he worked as a Project Associate at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Since 2021, he is pursuing his PhD in Power Electronics at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, India. He was selected for the prestigious Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship in 2022. His research area focuses on topology and modulation of medium voltage solid state transformer.
Prosen Dey (PhD)

Prosen Dey completed his B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology,
Kurukshetra, in 2020. In 2021, he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of
Science, Bangalore as a PhD scholar. He has been selected for the prestigious Prime Minister's Research
Fellowship in 2022. His research interests include Dual Active Bridge (DAB) converters, optimal
modulation and the design of DAB-based multiport topologies for EV charging applications.

Sanjeet Singh (PhD)

Sanjeet Singh received his Bachelor of Technology in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur, in 2018 and his Master of Technology in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, in 2021. He is pursuing a PhD in electrical engineering at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. His research focuses on resonant converters, electric vehicle chargers, and single-stage DC-AC converters.

Naresh Rana (PhD)
BTech: Elec Engg - Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Odisha.
Naresh Rana completed his BTech in Electrical Engineering from Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Odisha, Burla. He is enrolled in the PhD program in the Department of Electrical Engineering, IISc. His ongoing research focuses on the optimized modulation and design of single-stage, three-phase, and single-phase bidirectional AC-DC converters.

Surjakanta Mazumdar (PhD)
BTech: West Bengal University of Technology; MTech: SVNIT, Surat
Surjakanta Mazumder holds a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from Maulana Abul Kalam University
of Technology, Kolkata (formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology) (2018), and an
M.Tech. in Power Electronics and Electrical Drives from Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of
Technology, Surat (2021). He served as a Project Associate at the Indian Institute of Science,
Bangalore, from 2021 to 2022, contributing to designing and developing power electronic converters
for space applications under the ISRO-IISc Mission Mode Project Scheme. He has been pursuing a
PhD in Power Electronics at the Indian Institute of Science since 2022 and was honoured with the
Prime Minister's Research Fellowship in 2023. His research interest focuses on designing,
developing, and controlling High-frequency linked Converters for Medium Voltage Solid-state
Transformer and Electric Vehicle Charging applications.

He is currently Project Associate with SPELL EE IISc Bangalore from Jan. 2024 where my research focuses on Medium voltage power converters, On-board chargers etc. Before this, He did his Masters' from IIT Kanpur in Power Electronics and Bachelors' from Jabalpur Engg. College in Electrical Engg. He is also having total 2+ years of industrial experience in electricity distribution, electric vehicle and automotive domain.

He is from Srinagar , Jammu and Kashmir. He holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from NIT Srinagar. He has accumulated diverse experience in the field, having worked briefly as an Electrical Project Engineer before transitioning to a role as a Model Based Design Engineer. Currently, He is deeply involved in FPGA's, focusing specifically on digital substation applications. Outside of his career, he is an avid nature enthusiast and enjoy exploring the great outdoors. In his downtime, he is a passionate about gaming, which allows him to unwind and connect with a dynamic community of like-minded individuals.

Manikanta S (Project Associate)
B.Tech: BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru
He is a Project Associate working under the guidance of Dr. Kaushik Basu, focusing on Ather's Single- phase bidirectional EV charger project. He graduated from BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru. With a background in designing solenoid actuators from an internship under Gurunath Gurrala at IISc and a two-month internship with Dr. Basu, Manikanta brings a robust technical skill set to the team. He is dedicated to advancing innovative solutions in electric vehicle technology.
