Motor Drives

Motor drives are essential components in modern industrial and commercial applications. Fundamentally, motor drives convert electrical energy into mechanical energy, providing the necessary power for machinery ranging from small household appliances to large industrial equipment. They are essential in controlling electric motors’ speed, torque, and direction, ensuring efficiency, precision, and reliability in various systems. By adjusting the frequency and voltage of the electricity supplied to the motor, these drives enable precise control over motor speed and acceleration, matching operational requirements with optimal energy usage. Our primary focus areas of research are to recognize an optimal Pulse Width Modulation technique for a specific motor drive application and to develop advanced control algorithms to get maximum performance out of the drive.
